This exciting new musical, written in 2018 by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel, chronicles the real-life story of America’s first women soldiers, that takes us from New York to the WWI frontlines in France. It is the story of the groundbreaking work of women telephone operators and their expertise in the field of communications that played a central role in turning the tide of World War I in favor of the Allies. Once home the soldiers fought a decades-long battle for recognition and equality as members of the armed services.

McLeod County Veteran Services is proud to host a Women Veterans Event in the new Century Hall building on the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, MN. The purpose of this event is to reach a veteran population that is greatly underserved. The hope is to provide and connect female veterans to the benefits they are deserving of and entitled to as well as starting a community of female veterans. The 9th Annual Women Veterans Empowerment Expo will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Dress for Success Houston. This event is FREE and welcomes all Women Veterans.

Join us for an unforgettable 2-day hiking retreat exclusively for women veterans! Thanks to our amazing community partners, Georgia Appalachian Trail Club, this free event covers your food and lodging at The Hike Inn, a unique backcountry lodge in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Location: The Hike Inn (5-mile trail from Amicalola Falls State Park)
Hike Duration: 2-4 hours – Start early to arrive before dinner!

Our Restoration Retreats are hosted in an Airbnb-style setting with a small group (generally no more than 10) of fellow Lady Veterans. Each retreat is 2.5 days of restoration, visualization exercises, bonding with other Lady Veterans, and obtaining a positive, new outlook on your future.

Our Restoration Retreats are not therapy or counseling. Think of it as more of developing a personal toolbox of coping skills to aid you in your Journey to Restoration.

You will leave the Retreat with a Battle Angel by your side.
