Business Case

National Guard Technicians are often required to serve on State Active Duty during emergencies and other state missions. Currently, they are not allowed to use their federal military leave for these duties, forcing them to use personal leave or unpaid leave. This situation can cause significant financial stress, especially during prolonged state missions. Allowing Technicians to use their federal military leave would alleviate this burden, ensuring they can fulfill their state and federal duties without financial penalty.

Recommendation

The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States urges the Congress of the United States to enact legislation allowing National Guard Technicians to use military leave while serving on State Active Duty.
