Business Case

The current Department of Defense budgeting process often results in delays in procurement and modernization efforts due to restrictive timelines and lack of funding continuity. By extending acquisition Operations & Maintenance (O&M) funds through the NDAA, it would allow more flexibility in procurement, ensuring that critical items related to military readiness and modernization can be acquired and implemented in a timely manner. This would help mitigate gaps in readiness that currently exist due to funding limitations.

Recommendation

The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States recommends to the Congress of the United States legislation in support of extending acquisition O&M funds through the NDAA to ensure military readiness and modernization efforts are not delayed.
