Resolution Title | Call for Fire Trainer Modernization |
Resolution Description (Short) | Proposes modernization of the current Call for Fire Trainers across the Army and Army National Guard (ARNG). |
Proposal Type | Resubmission |

Business Case | Current Call for Fire Trainers have been sunset, and the Army is no longer providing sustainment dollars to maintain the equipment. This forces states to either self-repair/sustain or depend on state-funded contractors to maintain the equipment. The current plan is not to field a new system until 2030. Infantryman and artillery personnel are required to be trained on proper call for fire procedures, but the current systems are difficult to use, require extensive manpower, and are often non-operational. A new virtual, deployable system that can be used in standalone mode with a single instructor and student, or in a classroom environment with all students involved, is needed immediately. Providing the newest, most advanced technology is critical for maintaining the necessary training standards and ensuring the safety of operations during combat. |
Recommendation | The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States recommends to the Congress of the United States legislation in support of funding the National Guard to field a new, modern, and advanced Call for Fire Trainer with voice-activated capability across the entire force immediately, without waiting for the current 2030 sunset date. |
