According to the DoD Armed Services Fitness Center Initiative, only the following military statuses are allowed free access to Fitness Center facilities: (1)Title 10 Active-Duty service members and dependents; (2) Family members of Title 10 deployed sponsor (includes National Guard members when they are activated on Title 10 orders; (3)Title 10 assigned Community Based Warrior Transition Unit / Warrior Care Unit. National Guard Title 32 service members have the exact same PT requirements as Title 10 Active-Duty service members and should be afforded the same benefit to include family members of free access to any YMCA.

Recommendation

The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States urges Congress to enact legislation that would expand the DoD Armed Services Fitness Center Initiative to include all Title 32 service members (regardless of AGR, DSG, or M-Day status) and family members listed in DEERS.
