Resolution TitleTax Credit for Businesses Employing Members of the Reserve Components
Resolution Description (Short)

Calls for tax credits for businesses that hire or employ members of the Reserve Components.

Proposal TypeNew
State/Territory Chapter Submitting (Primary Sponsor)Ohio
Business Case

Currently, businesses can obtain tax credits for employing those with Veteran Status. Those currently serving in the National Guard who are not deployed or on State Active Duty Orders do not qualify businesses for any type of tax credit. Creating and implementing a tax credit for businesses that hire those currently serving in a Reserve Component of the US Military would improve recruitment and retention and entice businesses to employ Reserve Component military members.

Recommendation

That the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States supports tax credits to employers who recruit and retain service members in the Reserve Components.
